Howard and Arlene Berger started Alarm Controls Corporation in Deer Park, New York in 1971. The company started out manufacturing power packs, which were used to replace batteries in the alarm panels that existed at the time. Power packs became obsolete with the debut of newer alarm panels that did not require batteries to function.
Alarm Controls soon bounced back with the development of a line of remote station plates. The product line has grown to include request-to-exit stations, magnetic locks, timers, annunciator panels, push-button control stations, graphic annunciators, custom security panels, and custom plates.
