Talk-A-Phone Company was introduced as a premier manufacturer of record players and stylish intercoms. Talk-A-Phone Co. was classified by the government as an “Essential Industry” for its intercom systems. The intercoms were used in the U.S. as part of the war effort and by the military in a variety of settings. In the 50s, celebrities such as Walt Disney, and Mahalia Jackson endorsed Talk-A-Phone. The high-quality intercoms continued to gain recognition. With the Americans with Disabilities act in 1990, Talk-A-Phone released the first Hands-Free ADA-Compliant Emergency Phones.
