Business and homeowners across the globe find security in OPTEX. Optex Co. Ltd. was established in Japan in 1979 to broaden applications of passive infrared technology (PIR). Until that time, PIR technology had been used exclusively by the military, in space exploration, and in medical fields. OPTEX took this technology and began developing the security sensor for business use. In 1983, OPTEX developed a security sensor for home and store use.
